Marie D Denkinger

Marie D. Denkinger, 101, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, June 14, 2010 at her daughter's home in Sumner.  Marie was born October 17, 1908 in Germany, the daughter of Herman & Kristina Hay.  She came to the United States in 1927 and married Anton "Tony" Denkinger October 17, 1931 in Bremer County.  He preceded her in death November 29, 1986.

Survivors include her children, Helene Bergman, of Sumner, Iowa, Marian Denkinger, of Waterloo, Iowa, Don (Gayle) Denkinger, of Waterloo, Tony (Dodie) Denkinger, of Johnston, Iowa, Bill (Carole) Denkinger, of Sitka, Alaska, Linda (Tom) Parrott, of Denver, Iowa; 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren; and one brother, Chris Hay, of Tucson, Arizona.  Marie was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and one sister.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, at St. John Lutheran Church with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to service time at the church.  Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com .
