Marian Caroline Denkinger

Marian Caroline Denkinger, 81, of Waterloo, died Sunday, November 20, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born February 13, 1935 in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Anton "Tony" and Marie (Hay) Denkinger. Marian was a graduate of Northern University High School and Iowa State Teachers College (UNI), both in Cedar Falls. She was a realtor for many years and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls. Marian also spent time at the Cedar Falls Community Center.

Marian is survived by her daughter, Nancy Hahn-Meeks, of Amarillo, Texas; her two brothers, Don (Gayle) Denkinger of Waterloo and Tony (Dodie) Denkinger of Johnston, Iowa, and her sister, Linda (Tom) Parrott, of Denver, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Wilhelm "Bill" Denkinger, and her sister, Helene Bergman.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls.  Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church.  Memorials may be donated to the church.
