MARGARET BRANDHORST
CRAFT was born September 15, 1894 in rural Black Hawk County, Iowa, the daughter of August and Anna (Von Grappendorf) Brandhorst. She married Vaughn L. Craft on June 9, 1928 at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Hudson, Iowa. He died in November of 1983. Margaret was a graduate of Iowa State Teachers College and taught in rural schools near Hudson and at Jubilee Consolidated near La Porte City, Iowa. She and her husband farmed near Hudson for over fifty years until their retirement in 1981. Margaret died Sunday, January 3, 1999 at Barthell's Eastern Star Home in Decorah, Iowa at the age of 104 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Marianne Craft Norton of Decorah, her son, Rolf V. Craft of Waverly, Iowa and five grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one infant son.
Memorial services were 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 8, 1999 at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Hudson and burial at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the church.
