Marcus (Mark) J. Lentz, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at his home. He was born October 23, 1925, in St. Cecilia, near Elma, Iowa, the son of Marcus Matt and Gertrude (Fasbender) Lentz. He married Carol Ott May 16, 1969, in Waterloo. She preceded him in death October 3, 2006. Mark served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He worked for John Deere as a Machinist for 30 years, retiring in 1977. Mark and Carol moved to the Holiday Lake area after his retirement. Mark is survived by two sons, Michael (Debra) Ott, of Delhi, Iowa, and Kevin (Chris) Ott, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two daughters, Karen (Paul) James of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Laurie (Rod) Rose, of Cedar Falls; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2015, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with burial at Garden of Memories, both in Waterloo. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital and the Cedar Bend Humane Society. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
