Marcia L. Chamness, 77, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Presbyterian Village in Ackley, Iowa. Marcia was born January 14, 1936, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Clifton & Bernice (Palmer) Ahrens. She married Charles G. Chamness October 26, 1957 in Montezuma, Iowa. Marcia was a business education teacher for the Cedar Falls Community School District and Hawkeye Community College. Survivors include her husband, Charles Chamness, of Cedar Falls; her son, Mark (Michelle) Chamness, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; two daughters, Terri (Ted) Hammes, of Story City, Iowa and Kevan Chamness of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; and five grandchildren, Benjamin, Samuel and Zebulon Hammes, and Alexis and Amanda Chamness. Marcia was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at First Christian Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour prior to service time at the church.
