MARCELLA MARIE YOUNG was born June 24, 1925 in New Hartford, Iowa the daughter of Roy and Edna (Church) Shoemaker. She married Duane Simpson in 1943 in Texas and they were later divorced. She married Frank Young September 19, 1949 in Waterloo, Iowa. Marcella was employed at John Deere for 33 1/2 years retiring in October of 1981. She died Monday, November 1, 1999 at her home at 74 years of age.
Survivors include four sons, Harry Simpson, Cedar Falls, Iowa, Robert Simpson, Wells, Maine, Richard Kramer, Traer, Iowa, and Kenneth Young, Cedar Falls, Iowa; one daughter, Carolyn Young, Cedar Falls, Iowa; 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, one stepson, Paul Young, Camden, Missouri; one stepdaughter, Leila Dolon, Phoenix, Arizona, and 6 step grandchildren. Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one stepdaughter, Linda Young.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 3, 1999 at Valley View Baptist Church with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the church.
