MARCELLA L. CARLSON,
88, of Shell Rock, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at the Shell Rock Healthcare Center. She was born August 6, 1917 at Plymouth, Iowa, the daughter of John and Annie (Barth) Dorman. Marcella married Ralph L. Carlson on April 9, 1941 at Janesville, Iowa and he preceded her in death on March 12, 1976.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty Jean (Paul) Borgwardt, of Parkersburg, Iowa; four grandchildren, Rick (Staci) Borgwardt, Janelle (Jason) Wonase, Tammie (Karl) Hansen and Lynneita Borgwardt; five great grandchildren, Emma and Tyler, Shane and Kaylie, and Graceland; two sisters, Vesta (Carry) Warrick of Macomb, Oklahoma and Mary Smith of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and a special friend, Bill Giesler, of Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Harold and Percy Dorman, and one sister, Marie Murray.
Funeral services were Friday, April 28, 2006, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with interment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or Finchford Community Bible Church.
