MADELINE LOUISE HAGGE, 76, died at her home in Cedar Falls on Monday, October 30, 2006. She was born July 31, 1930 in Manning, Iowa, the daughter of Ray and Eleanor (Truhe) Hamann. Madeline was united in marriage to Harry D. Hagge, Jr. on November 3, 1951 at St. Lawrence Church in Carroll, Iowa. She was a 1948 graduate of Carroll High School and graduated from St. Anthony Nursing School in 1951. Madeline was a registered nurse at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls and at Allen Memorial Hospital and Schoitz Hospital, both in Waterloo, Iowa. She also worked for Dr. Tom Updergraff and served as the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parrish Health Nurse. Madeline and her husband have owned and operated the Cedar Falls Dairy Queen since 1976. She retired in 1995. Madeline was active in both the Phi Tau Omega Sorority in the Kappa Nu Chapter, and her church, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Waterloo.

Survivors include her husband, Harry D. Hagge, Jr., of Cedar Falls; her son, Jon (Deborah) Hagge, of Ankeny, Iowa; her three daughters, Lori Whitehill of McPherson, Kansas, Dana (John) Eastman of Brainerd, Minnesota and Kerrie (Kurt) Albrecht of Lenexa, Kansas; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Shannon, Drew, Evan, Alex, Blake, Brooke and Conner, and two great grandchildren, Jayden and Lanie; a brother, Gerald (Linda) Hamann of Turtle Lake, Wisconsin and a sister, Carolyn Jean (Jerome) Thompson of Blue Springs, Missouri. Madeline was preceded in death by her parents.

The Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Thursday, November 2, 2006, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Waterloo. Visitation will be 3—8:00 pm Wednesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, where a 4:00 pm Rosary Service and a 7:00 pm Vigil Service will be conducted. Visitation will also be Friday at Dahn & Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll, Iowa, where a 3:00 pm Rosary Service and a 7:00 pm Christian Wake Service will be conducted. A graveside committal service will be 10:00 am Saturday at Carroll City Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
