MABEL M. TREMAINE, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, September 15, 2004, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home. Mabel was born November 4, 1912 at Sumner, Iowa, the daughter of John and Matilda (Koch) Bock. She married Edward Wilharm Tremaine on January 15, 1939 at Sumner. He died July 29, 1993. She is survived by four daughters, Carol (James) Lantow of Rochester, Minnesota, JoAnn (John) Hayes of Encinitas, California, Mary Lou Lamb of Carlsbad, California and Barbara Browning of Lees Summit, Missouri; nine grandchildren, John Lantow, Jennifer Carlson, David Hayes, Jeanne Gable, Diane Roerig, Joseph Hayes, Jeffrey Lamb, Bryan Lamb and Ryan Browning; seventeen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Reinhold Bock of Sumner and LaVerne (Ruth) Bock of Rock Falls, Illinois and a sister, Lelia (Donald) Taylor of Sumner. Mabel was preceded in death by her husband and parents, and three sisters, Emma Schumacher, Esther Lenton and Bernita Bock.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 20, 2004, at St. John Lutheran Church, with interment at Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 6 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Chapel or St. John Lutheran Church.
