LYN C. CUVELIER FECKERS,
69, of New Hartford, died at home, surrounded by her family, after a lengthy illness, on Monday, July 18, 2005. She was born May 15, 1936 in Allison, Iowa, the daughter of Jake and Marie (Henrichs) Cuvelier. Lyn married Paul R. Feckers on July 17, 1954 at Finchford Community Church in Finchford, Iowa. She was a 1954 graduate of Finchford High School and a 1956 graduate of Pitzies School of Beauty in Waterloo, Iowa. Lyn worked at John's House of Beauty in Waterloo and at a beauty shop in Shell Rock, Iowa. She and her husband Paul moved to New Hartford where they farmed for several years. Lyn worked at the Butler County Mutual Insurance Company in New Hartford for ten years and later owned and operated Lyn's Beauty Shop until her illness in 2004. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and was a member of the Butler County Mutual Insurance Bowling Team and the New Hartford Business Association.
Survivors include her husband, Paul, of New Hartford; two sons, Steven (Shellene) Feckers of Dumont, and Allan (Charlotte) Feckers of New Hartford; six grandchildren, Jodi (Nathan) Fritz of Sioux Center, Janscee Feckers of Hampton, Jacobi Feckers of Dumont, and Alyssa, Brianna and Caleb Feckers of New Hartford; three great-grandchildren, Spencer, Lindi and Kylar Fritz; a sister, Cae (Noel) McCalley of Cedar Rapids; a sister-in-law, Pat Cuvelier of Salem, Oregon; two brothers-in-law, Roger (Marcella) Feckers and Don (Sharon) Feckers, both of New Hartford; and many nieces and nephews.
Lyn was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Lon Cuvelier.
Funeral services were 10:30 am Thursday, July 21, at First United Methodist Church, with interment at Oak Hill Cemetery, both in New Hartford. Memorials may be directed to the family.
