LYDIA ERIKSEN was born June 29, 1907 near Kimballton, Iowa, the daughter of Soren and Marie (Schmidt) Sorensen. She married Finn B. Eriksen on December 23, 1934 in Kimballton. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1992. Lydia was employed at Black's Department Store, was a desk clerk and hostess at the Russell Lamson Hotel and retired as a receptionist at Pitze's School of Beauty, all in Waterloo, Iowa. She was a volunteer at the former Schoitz Memorial Hospital in Waterloo and was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Lydia died Thursday, February 22, 2001 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, at 93 years of age. She is survived by two nephews, Dr. Arno L. Jensen (Joan) of Dallas, Texas and Dr. Alfred Sorensen (Sandra) of McMurray, Pennsylvania, and two nieces, Freda Lovejoy (Robert) of Cedar Falls and Mary Mitchell of Ouray, Colorado. Lydia was preceded in death by her husband and parents; three brothers, George, Alfred and Walter Sorensen, and a sister, Davida Jensen. Memorial services were 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2001, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home chapel.  Inurnment will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Kimballton, Iowa at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls or the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.
