Lucy Ann Boege

Lucy Ann Boege, 60, of Cedar Falls, passed away unexpectedly at home following years of declining health. She was born November 16, 1965, in Cedar Falls, daughter of Roy and Barbara (Voorhees) Saul. Lucy earned her G.E.D. through Metro High School in 1983, then studied data entry at Hawkeye Community College. She worked in various positions through the years for Manpower, Meskwaki Casino and Wal-Mart.  Lucy married Mark Becking and they had two children together, later divorcing. On November 22, 2003, she married Leonard Boege at the United Church of Christ in Reinbeck.

Lucy was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Edward and Roger Saul.  She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Leo; daughters, Candice (Scott) Cook and Danielle (Will Gause) Becking-Gause; sisters, Janice (George) Johnson and Mary Chavez; grandchildren: Alexis, Isaiah, Isabelle, Dekoda, Xavier and Cayden; step-sons: Adam (Lisa), Justin (Maggie), Nathan (Jen), Travis (Bethany) and Derick (Kaila); and step-grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Tyler, Marissa (Matt and Austin.

Lucy's family will hold a public viewing from 4-7:00 pm with an informal time of sharing beginning at 5:30 pm (please bring your favorite memories) on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home of Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to Candice and/or Danielle to help defray funeral expenses.

Lucy enjoyed playing BINGO. She was proud of her sobriety: 27 years, 9 months and 14 days and continued to work the program diligently with Leo at her side. But above all else, Lucy cherished time with her husband, their kids, their grandkids and beloved dachshund, Klaus.
