LOWELL R. WILLIAMS was born on November 16, 1931 in Dumont, Iowa the son of Harry and Opal (Manifold) Williams. He married Marcia J. Thuesen on July 21, 1972 at Cedar Falls, Iowa. Lowell served with the U.S. Navy and was a Cedar Falls Police Officer from December 1, 1959 until May 26, 1977. In June of 1977 he was employed as a security guard by John Deere & Co. in Waterloo, Iowa, retiring July 31, 1991. Lowell died Wednesday, March 17, 1999 at his home in Hudson, Iowa at 67 years of age.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia of Hudson; two sons, Terry Williams of Cedar Falls and Tom Williams of Cresco, Iowa; one daughter, Kelly Reeves of Waterloo; six grandchildren, Ashley and Tyler Lay, Alexis Reeves, Caitlyn Williams, Kristine Miller and Lauren Williams; one brother, Ronald Williams of Cedar Falls. Lowell was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 19, 1999 at the United Church of Christ in Reinbeck, Iowa, with burial at Garden of Memories in Waterloo. A memorial fund will be established.
