Lovelle Cortez Banks Jr was special from the day he was born. His smile, laugh and bright spirit could light up any room. He was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on January 16, 2001, to Renee Duckworth and Lovelle (Arnela) Banks Sr. Lovelle was born with a womb-mate, his twin sister Aireonna Banks. He loved his sister and often times thought he was the big brother because he was born first. Lovelle was also a big brother to Dominique and Mya Banks. He, truly, loved being a big brother and took the job seriously. Lovelle had a big heart and a God-sent spirit of kindness.
In 2019, Lovelle graduated from Cedar Falls High School. As a member of the Varsity basketball team, he attended the State Basketball Tournament back to back, taking home the championship his Senior year. He was very intelligent, ambitious and such an independent young man. He moved out of the house at 17 years of age and has been his own boss ever since. Adding to his independence, in 2019 he became a dog dad to Dino, who is just as loving and lovable as Lovelle. Dino has been with him since he was a puppy and by his side until his final breath.
Lovelle attended Hawkeye Community College for a short time, studying real estate. During this time, he decided to pursue entrepreneurship and started his own rap career. Lovelle had dreams of one day starting his own business. He started rapping independently as youngvelle , then with his close friend MyQuawn as Velle N Savv , making his first two mixtapes. He would eventually create his own record label entitled ,"Young Guap Chasers" or "YGC" with his brother and close cousins, recording numerous songs that have yet to be released.
Lovelle had his own personal relationship with God; praying everyday and being a light to so many friends and family members. He loved everyone and everyone loved him. He was so selfless, so handsome, so funny, so charming, so determined, and so kind-hearted. He would help anyone in need, doing it with a smile, and not expecting anything in return because that's the kind of man he was. He looked out for everyone and his main focus was being successful. He enjoyed traveling, playing the PS5, spending time with his family, making music, listening to music and helping his loved ones. He also enjoyed shopping and always went out of his way to look and feel his best!
Lovelle's life was cut short, unfortunately, but he had big plans for his future. He always knew there was more to life, and he was so determined to get there. No matter how or when, he knew he would make it happen.
Lovelle's Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 11, 2022, with Visitation the evening prior from 5-7:00 pm both at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home of Cedar Falls.
