Louise M Eckerman

Louise M. Eckerman, 96, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Sartori Memorial Hospital. Louise was born August 28, 1914 in rural Cedar Falls, the daughter of Oluf Kristian & Marie Magdalena (Pfieffer) Jensen.  She married Lloyd Calvin Eckerman May 28, 1933 in Cedar Falls.  He preceded her in death June 23, 1999.  Louise and her husband owned and operated Eckerman's Grocery Store in Cedar Falls from 1937 until 1949.

Survivors include two sons, Don (Barbara) Eckerman, of Washburn, Iowa and Duane (Teri) Eckerman, of Wichita, Kansas; three daughters, Darlene (David) Boggs, of Spring, Texas, Deanna Eckerman of Cedar Falls and Delila (David) Nielsen, of Watertown, Wisconsin; ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents and husband, one granddaughter, one brother, Herman Jensen; and two sisters, Frieda Jensen and Elizabeth Frerking.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011 at St. John Lutheran Church with private burial at Hillcrest Cemetery, rural Cedar Falls.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to service time at the church.  Memorials may be directed to the church.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
