Lorraine K. Strudthoff, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at the Western Home Communities Windhaven Assisted Living Center in Cedar Falls. She was born January 3, 1925 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of E. Otto and Louise (Demmel) Reinicke. Lorraine married Stanley L. Strudthoff on June 1, 1945 at First Lutheran Church in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1995. Lorraine was a graduate of Waterloo West High School and worked in the chemical lab of the Materials Engineering Dept. at John Deere & Company in Waterloo during WW II. She loved music all of her life. During high school, she played in orchestra, concert and marching band, and trio and quartet. The trio and quartet group always won first place at the state music contest.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Strudthoff-McKee of Bloomington, Minnesota and Jean (Eugene Stevens) Strudthoff of Redding, California; her son, S. Jon (Tammy) Strudthoff, of Victor, Iowa; five grandchildren, Michelle (David) Berger, Angelakay (Travis) Seehaver, Jesse Spindler, Kevin Spindler, Tanner Strudthoff, and a great grandchild, Naev Seehaver.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a daughter, Susan Spindler, and a brother, Richard Reinicke.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2016, at St. John Lutheran Church, with burial at Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 2—5:00 p.m. Sunday, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the church, Christian Crusaders, or the charity of the donor's choice. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com
