Lori Henry, 58, of rural Cedar Falls, died at her home on Thursday, January 12, 2017. She was born September 29, 1958 in Vinton, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Marilyn (Baldwin) Ohrt. Lori married Ron Henry on April 12, 1980 in Cedar Falls. She was a 1977 graduate of Dysart-Geneseo High School and attended Kirkwood College in Cedar Rapids. Lori keypunched for a short time at People's Bank in Waterloo and then for a year at Rockwell-Collins in Cedar Rapids. She had worked at Viking Pump Company in Cedar Falls since 1979, most recently as a Senior Production Planner.
Lori is survived by her husband, Ron Henry, of rural Cedar Falls; two sons, Ashly (Sarah) Henry of Janesville, Iowa and Adam (Kristin) Henry of Waterloo; a daughter, Emily (Brock) Schmidt, of New Hampton, Iowa; six grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Trevor and Courtney Henry, Owen Henry, Addison and Evelyn Schmidt; her parents, Carl and Marilyn Ohrt, of Marion, Iowa; two brothers, Roger (Lisa) Ohrt of La Porte City, Iowa and Scott (Wanda) Ohrt of Waterloo; two sisters, Sheri (Mike) Swallom of Urbana, Iowa and Mari Houck of Marion, and two sisters-in-law, Patricia (David) Gordon of Evergreen, Colorado and Leigh Anne Cox of Fairbanks, Alaska.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Aurel and John Henry, and a brother-in-law, Ted Cox.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Prairie Lakes Church in Cedar Falls, with burial at Mt. Vernon Township Cemetery, rural Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4—7:00 p.m. Friday, January 20, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
