LORETTA REHBERG
PEDERSEN, 94, of McKinleyville, California and formerly of Cedar Falls, died at her home in McKinleyville on March 5, 2006. She was born on February 11, 1912 to Loretta Elizabeth Heddinger McNamara and Michael McNamara, one of five children. Loretta married William H. Rehberg of Rowley, Iowa on August 13, 1929, and of this marriage, there were four children, Darlene, Shirley, Kathryn and Jeffrey. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and assisted her husband as clerk at the Rowley Post Office for over twenty-six years. William preceded Loretta in death on March 29, 1960. On November 1, 1968, she married Alvin Pedersen of Cedar Falls, where she moved to make her new home. In 1994, Alvin and Loretta moved to Crescent City, California and in 2000 to McKinleyville, California.
She is survived by her husband, Alvin, of McKinleyville; her daughters, Shirley (James) Schwartz and Kathryn Laipple of McKinleyville, and her son, Jeffrey (Vikki) Rehberg, of Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren, Stuart (Ann)Schwartz of Phoenix, Peggy Rogers of Crescent City, California, John Laipple of McKinleyville and James Laipple of Los Angeles, California; two great-grandchildren, Sarah Schwartz and Tommy Laipple; four step children, Ronald (Rae Ann) Pedersen, Linda (Tom) Ladd, Christy (Dennis) Wendell and Steve (Betty) Pedersen, and several step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her husband William and oldest daughter, Darlene Rogers.
Graveside services were Thursday, March 16, 2006, at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Independence, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Humboldt County, California or Christ the King Church, McKinleyville, California.
