Loraine Vorland

Loraine Vorland, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, July 14, 2016, at the Western Home Communities Nation Cottage. Loraine was born January 5, 1925 in Jackson, Minnesota, the daughter of Henry & Birdie (Synstelien) Herbranson. She married Earl Vorland August 7, 1946 in Estherville, Iowa. He preceded her in death November 20, 1992. Loraine was office manager for 15 years at Vorland Chiropractic. She was a member of the Iowa Chiropractic Society Auxiliary, LaSertoma and St. John Lutheran Church.

Survivors include four sons, Dr. David (Terri) Vorland and Jerry (K.D.) Vorland, both of Cedar Falls, Tim (Teri) Vorland of West Des Moines and Randy (Michelle) Vorland of Hudson; her daughter in law, Julia Romanin of Kansas City, Missouri, fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Loraine was preceded in death by her parents and husband; one son, Bob Vorland; two brothers, Harold and Elmer Herbranson; and three sisters, Juliet Fransdal, Helen Martinson and Elvina Luscombe.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour prior to service time on Tuesday. Memorials may be directed to Western Home Communities.
