Lonney Marie Chevalier, 86, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls. Lonney was born October 24, 1926 in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Gustav and Ella (Kruger) Dahms. She married Darrell Dean Chevalier September 6, 1947 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He preceded her in death January 7, 1994. Before her retirement, Lonny worked for Hearst Grocery, Rath Packing, Waterloo Laundry and Chamberlain Manufacturing. She was an active girl scout leader in Evansdale. She is survived by two sons, Danny (Joy) Chevalier, of Tampa, Florida, and Dean (Joy) Chevalier, of Waterloo; five daughters, Marie Wulf, of Cedar Falls, Sharon (David) Mathews, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Diana Bergmeier, of Cedar Falls, Carrell (Steve) Fiala, of Spirit Lake, and Nola (Harold) Roeding, of Dunkerton; twelve grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence "Junior" Steggall of Decorah and Jerry Steggall Sr. of Bakersfield, California; three sisters, Marian Jensen, of Brigham City, Utah, Lois Olson, of Waterloo, and Jeanna Stearns, of Allegany, Michigan. Lonny was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Robert Dahms and twin brothers Edwin and Edward Dams, three grandchildren, Thomas Mathews, Ryan and Gerald Bergmeier, and one son-in-law, Dean Bergmeier. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2012 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Hudson with burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls and one hour before services Monday at the church.
