Lois M. Slaughter

Lois M. Slaughter, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls. She was born June 1, 1925 in Macomb, Illinois, the daughter of Leo Milton and Edith (Stroup) Singleton. Lois graduated from East High School in Waterloo. She married Dale L. Slaughter December 18, 1942 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death October 6, 1999. Lois is survived by two sons, Jeffrey (Jen) Slaughter of Union, Iowa and John (Laura) Slaughter of Rockford, Illinois; three daughters, Linda Moore of Waterloo, Mary (James Ackles) Slaughter of Cedar Falls, and Caroline Slaughter of Waterloo; five grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister, Shirley Mahncke, and one son, Dale R. Slaughter. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2014, at NewAldaya Lifescapes Chapel, with inurnment in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.
