Lois Hagen

Lois Buls Hagen, 95, of Waterloo and formerly of Parkersburg, died Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Friendship Village Lakeview Landing in Waterloo.  She was born January 7, 1923 in Tripoli, Iowa, the daughter of Herman & Hilda (Rohrssen) Buls.  She married Loran W. Hagen on August 30, 1940 in Tripoli, Iowa.  He preceded her in death on April 1, 1995.  Lois was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Parkersburg for over 50 years.  After moving to Friendship Village in 2003, she became a member of Zion Lutheran Church.  She was a homemaker, member of American Legion Auxiliary, various church circles and women's clubs.

Survivors include her son, Dennis (Judy) Hagen of Cedar Falls; her daughter, Judy (Darryl) Cheney of Hiawatha, Iowa; two granddaughters, Christina (Doug) George of LaGrange, Illinois and Trisha (Andy) Ender of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; three great granddaughters, Lillie and Elise George and Ashlyn Ender; and a sister-in-law, Jane Buls.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a grandson, David Hagen; two sisters, Darlene (Willard) Holm and Edith (James) Damon; one brother, Lloyd Buls and a sister-in-law, Verla Hagen.

Family memorial services will be held at a later date.  Memorials may be directed to the family to be donated to non-profits of their choice.  Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
