Lois Chase

Lois M. Chase, 85, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at the Cedar Falls Health Care Center. She was born August 1, 1929 in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Harvey and Ethel (North) Haurum. Lois married Clarence Chase on February 11, 1955 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 24, 1972. Lois was a graduate of Cedar Falls High School and was a custodian for the Cedar Falls School System for twenty years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Cedar Falls Fraternal Order of Eagles. Survivors include her son, Fred (Elise) Chase, of Cedar Falls; a daughter-in-law, Meri Kay Chase, of Winter Haven, Florida; a goddaughter, Lisa (John) Mathis, of Mt. Auburn, Iowa; four grandchildren; two step granddaughters, and many great grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a son, Daryl Chase, and two brothers, Vernon and Curtis Haurum. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.
