Lois Kaye Bohlen, 67, of Cedar Falls, died of natural causes on Wednesday, September 26, 2007, at her home in Cedar Falls. She was born August 4, 1940 in Kanawha, Iowa, the daughter of Melvin and Agnes (Nelson) Kinseth. Lois married Herman M. Bohlen on October 18, 1967 in Galena, Illinois. She was a graduate of Eagle Grove High School and attended the American Institute of Business in Cedar Falls. Lois made custom draperies for J. C. Penney. She also worked at Medical Associates in Cedar Falls and was the bookkeeper for the family business, Bohlen Construction and Excavation. Lois enjoyed sewing, oil painting, crocheting, scrapbooking and traveling with her husband. She was an active member of Ascension Lutheran Church where she attended bible study.

Survivors include her husband, Herman M. Bohlen, of Cedar Falls; her mother, Agnes Carlson, of Des Moines, Iowa; her sister, Doris (Dale) Winterberg, of Des Moines; five daughters, Sheila Bohlen of Cedar Falls, Deborah Knudsen of Dike, Iowa, Michelle Bohlen of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Teri (Lance) Folkerts of Boerne, Texas, and Kristine (Brook) Klunder of Cedar Falls; and eight grandchildren, Whitney and Tyler Folkerts, Alyse and Erica Knudsen, and Noah, Owen, Sara and Vada Klunder.

Lois was preceded in death by her father, stepfather, John Carlson, and her aunt and uncle, Edith and Arthur Alexander.

Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, September 29, 2007, at Ascension Lutheran Church in Waterloo. A time of remembrance will be 4—7:00 pm Friday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Cedar Valley Hospice.
