Lloyd G. Smith, 80, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. He was born June 18, 1932 in Imperial, Nebraska, the son of Clarence and Phoebe (Kennedy) Smith. Lloyd married Angelene Garrett on November 3, 1990 in Waterloo. He served in the National Guard, worked at Rath Packing Company in Waterloo for twenty-five years and later owned his own company, Smith Drywall. Survivors include his wife, Angelene Smith, of Waterloo; three sons, Lloyd (Gloria) Smith, Jr. of Lincoln, Nebraska, Ronnie Dougherty of Waterloo and Floyd (Joelle) Smith of Cedar Falls; five daughters, Sherry Wilson of Rockford, Illinois, Linda Smith of Hollister, Missouri, Shanan (Russell) Ott of Sumner, Iowa, Kelly (Jeffrey) Marshall of Paris, Missouri and Kelly (Aaron) Phillips of Houston, Texas; nineteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, including his twin, Floyd, and five sisters. Services will be 1:00 pm Friday, September 28, 2012, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be one hour before service. Memorials may be directed to the family.
