LISA JANE TATE was born April 21, 1964 in Ames, Iowa the daughter of Kenneth and Margie (Torkelson) Sogard. She graduated from Ames High School in 1982. Lisa married Bill Tate, Jr. on August 5, 1988 in Ames. She was a licensed day care provider which she operated out of her home. Lisa died Sunday, February 24, 2002 at her home at the age of 37 years. Survivors include her husband, Bill, of Waterloo; three daughters, Jessica, Jasmine, and Jenna Tate, all at home; her mother and stepfather, Margie and Rich Hinderaker, of Ames; her maternal grandmother, Othelia Torkelson, of Forest City and two sisters, Carla Hatten and LouAnn Norlin, both of Ames. Lisa was preceded in death by her father, her paternal grandparents and her maternal grandfather.

Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2002 at St. John Lutheran Church, 8th & College Streets, Cedar Falls, Iowa, with burial in Fairview Cemetery in Waterloo, Iowa. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorials may be given to the Jessica, Jasmine and Jenna Tate Educational fund in care of Bill Tate, 108 Cortez Circle, Waterloo, Iowa 50701 or LouAnn Norlin, 813 Hunziker Dr., Ames, Iowa 50010.
