LINDA KAY
PRATT 43, of Cedar Falls, died after a long and brave fight with breast cancer, on Tuesday, April 26, 2005, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa. She was born December 11, 1961 in Waterloo, the daughter of Donald and Rita (Palmersheim) Rosauer. Linda married James Pratt on December 29, 1984 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gilbertville, Iowa. She was a 1980 graduate of Gilbertville-Don Bosco High School and received her BA in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Iowa in 1984. Linda was an elementary school teacher in Belmond, Iowa for five years and taught fourth grade at Lincoln Elementary School in Cedar Falls for fourteen years. She was a member of the Cedar Falls Education Association.
Survivors include her husband, James, of Cedar Falls; her children, Maria, Emily and Christopher Pratt, all at home; her parents, Donald and Rita Rosauer of Gilbertville; five brothers, Dennis (Helene) Rosauer of Urbandale, Gary (Janice) Rosauer of Gilbertville, Steven Rosauer of Washburn, Robert (Coleene) Rosauer of Ft. Myers, Florida and Larry (Vanessa) Rosauer of Waterloo; five sisters, Julie (Joe) Frost of Gilbertville, Patti (Randy) Ragsdale of Reinbeck, Teresa (Brent) Buszka of Iowa City, Annette Weber of Urbandale and Angie (Stan) Hemesath of Waterloo; and her mother-in-law, Roberta Pratt of Waterloo.
Linda was preceded in death by her father-in-law, William Pratt.
Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 29, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with interment at Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. A memorial fund will be established.
