Lillie Enlow

Lillie was born October 26, 1916 in Bedford, Iowa, the daughter of Addison & Anna (Sinison) Fanning. On August 15, 1938, she was united in marriage to James Russell Enlow in Troy, Kansas. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1976. Lillie was employed as a nurse's aide at the Iowa Masonic Health Facility in Bettendorf for a number of years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church of Bettendorf and was a volunteer for the former St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary. Lillie enjoyed reading, sewing, doing embroidery and always had a soft place in her heart for animals. Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Susan (Marlyn) Cornelius of Cedar Falls; her son, Steven R. Enlow of Bettendorf; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her son-in-law, Elston Goodenbour of Readlyn, Iowa; and her best friend & caregiver, Candy Ayers. In addition to her husband, Lillie was preceded in death by her son, David Enlow in 1995; her daughter, Barbara Goodenbour in 2000; her sisters, Flossie & Betsy; and her brothers, Bob, John & Loren. Visitation will be 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 1:30 pm Tuesday at Greenwood Cemetery in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society.
