LILLIAN MOODY, 97, died Thursday, April 19, 2007, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home. She was born December 7, 1909 in a rural Grundy County, Iowa, the daughter of J. O. and Johanna (Jorgensen) Johnson. She graduated from Cedar Falls High School and went on to earn a nursing degree at the University of Iowa School of Nursing. Lillian then worked at Sartori Memorial Hospital until her marriage to Ray D. Moody in 1934. After her husband's death in 1954, she then went to work for Allen Memorial Hospital until her retirement.

Lillian lived with her sister, Dagmar Petersen, until Dagmar's death. She then moved to the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home where she remained living independently for many years. Due to her good health and nursing experience, Lillian was able to assist many residents in their care and other needs. She remained very alert all through her lifetime.

Lillian is survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and her one son, Patrick Moody; six brothers, Ole, George, Robert, Clarence, Harry and Arthur Johnson; four sisters, Carrie Christiansen, Ida Thuesen, Dagmar Petersen and Alma Pedersen.

Memorial serviceswill be 10:30 amSaturday, April 21, 2007,at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Chapel. Inurnment will be at a later date in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Waterloo. A memorial fund will be established.
