Lester A Collingwood

Lester A. Collingwood, 69, of Cedar Falls died, Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Sartori Hospital. He was born on May 22, 1940 the son of Orlo K. and Pauline S. (Teggatz) Collingwood at Williamsburg, Iowa. He graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1958 and also attended Kirkwood College in Cedar Rapids. Lester married Connie L. Cobb on November 30, 1968 at North English, Iowa. He was an inspector for John Deere Tractor Works , retiring in 2001. In his spare time, Lester loved spending time on his farm near Williamsburg.

He is survived by his wife, Connie, of Cedar Falls and his daughter Chandel (Brian) Welsh, of Waterloo; one grandson, Kayden; three sisters, Deloris (Ray) Doehrmann, of Williamsburg, Karen (Gene) Schmidt and Darlene Street both of Cedar Rapids and one brother Ken (Carolynn) Collingwood, of Robins, Iowa. Lester was preceded in death by his parents and one son Shaun.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday August 15, 2009 at Orchard Hill Church. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday August 14, 2009 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour before services Saturday at the church. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
