Leroy K Satterlee

LEROY K. SATTERLEE, 70, died at his home in Waterloo on Thursday, May 3, 2007. He was born April 22, 1937 in Waterloo, the son of Kenneth & Marjorie (Bottine) Satterlee. LeRoy married Janice Francis on March 30, 1957 in Waterloo. He was a design engineer with John Deere & Company in Waterloo for 31 years, retiring in 1986. Later, he was employed as a model airplane designer with SIG Manufacturing in Montezuma, Iowa. LeRoy also worked as a golf course equipment designer with Diedrichs & Associates Manufacturing in Cedar Falls. He also submitted several articles for publication to model airplane magazines. LeRoy was a member of Harley Owner's Group (HOG) and the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA).

Survivors include his wife, Janice, of Waterloo; four sons, Brian (Ann) Satterlee of Waterloo, Lance Satterlee of Cedar Falls, Scott (Joyce) Satterlee of Evansdale and Wayne (Lacey) Satterlee of Dunkerton; one daughter, Tracy (Randy) Clark, of Marion, Iowa; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild; his father, Kenneth Satterlee, of Cedar Falls; one brother, Michael (Melody) Satterlee, of Evansdale, and two sisters, Merrian Back and Terrie (Raphael) Esqueval, both of Evansdale. LeRoy was preceded in death by his mother.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2007 at Bethany Bible Chapel in Cedar Falls with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Monday. A memorial fund will be established.
