LEORA M.
PHELPS, 90, of Waterloo and formerly of Cedar Falls died Sunday, February 6, 2005 at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehab Center. She was born November 2, 1914 at Lewis, Iowa the daughter of William J. & Edna Mae (Ireland) James. She married Vern S. Thompson June 28, 1936, at Waterloo, Iowa. He preceded her in death July 22, 1974. She married Verle W. Phelps March 9, 1979 at Waterloo, Iowa. He preceded her in death April 23, 1990.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara (Robert) Cutsforth and Beverly (Douglas) Puhl, both of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Kimberly (Roger) Latusick, Scott (Sherri) Cutsforth and Renee (Steven) Miller; five great grandchildren, Kara (Ethan) DeWall, Jennifer (Jeff) Monteith, Chad (Abbie) Citsforth, Ashley and Austin Miller and one great great grandson, Tanner DeWall. Leora was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands; three brothers, Paul, Bernard, and Donald; and two sisters, Georgia Bernstin and Clara Brown.
Services were 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2005, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, Iowa with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo, Iowa. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 8, from 4-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family.
