Leo H. Walton

Leo H. Walton, 78, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, November 2, 2012, at Sartori Memorial Hospital. He was born August 17, 1934 in Waterloo, the son of William J. and Catherine M. (Kaufman) Walton. Leo married Marcie P. Beebe December 5, 1953 in New Hampton, Iowa. She preceded him in death April 21, 2007. Leo graduated from Independence High School and from UNI with a masters degree in social studies. He taught social studies at the Cedar Falls High School and retired in 1991. Leo was a charter member of Rambling Wheels Motor Cycle Club. He is survived by one son, Brian (Laura) Walton of Cedar Falls and one daughter, Cindy (Dean) Nicholson of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren, Amy (Boon) Stover of Buffalo, Iowa, Bree Nicholson of Minneapolis, Kyle (Lenah) Walton of Wellsburg, and Bryn Lenius of Cedar Falls; three great grandchildren, Briar Stover, Carsten Walton, and Madeline Walton; one sister, Mary Walton of Waterloo. Leo was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother, Roy Walton, and one nephew, Mike Walton. Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.
