Leann Hughes

LeAnn Hughes, 76, of Cedar Falls, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Hospital – Methodist Campus. She was born October 3, 1948, youngest child of Howard and Annabelle (Heiss) King. LeAnn graduated from East High School with the Class of 1966, then attended Gates College. She married her high school sweetheart, Daniel Robert Hughes, on February 22, 1969, at the Raymond Methodist Church. LeAnn lived out one of her passions through her ownership of Lulijune's Quilt Shop on University Avenue in rural Cedar Falls. She loved cats, dogs and, above all else, being a grandmother.  LeAnn enjoyed watching and cheering for her sons when they were in Junior and Senior High wrestling as well as the Minnesota Vikings. She really treasured time spent at the ocean, likely a throwback to the early years of her marriage when Dan served in the U.S. Navy.

LeAnn was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, William and John (Ruth) King.  She is survived by Dan, her husband of, nearly, 56 years; sons, Brandon (Kala) of Cedar Falls and Ryan (Shana) of Janesville; 2 grandchildren, Dani & Taylor and stepgrandchildren, Taylor and Allison; and her beloved Golden Retriever, Phoebe.
