LAWRENCE "DOC" W. CORWIN was born November 20, 1915 in Janesville, Iowa, the son of Harry and Minnie (Engleman) Corwin. He married Radah Simpson on June 27, 1938 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls. Doc was a graduate of Cedar Falls High School and worked at Hawkeye Steel Products in Waterloo for 40 years, retiring as a supervisor. Doc enjoyed fishing, gardening and his music. He died Saturday, January 11, 2003 at his home in Waterloo, Iowa, at 87 years of age.
Doc is survived by his wife Radah, of Waterloo; a son Dennis (Nan Mercier), of Iowa City; two daughters, Sheila (Donald) Wilkins, of Fairbank, Iowa and Pat (Steven) Fox, of Waterloo, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Jeanette Phelps and Mildred Kreger and five brothers, John, Earl, Roger, Donald and Ronald Corwin, who died in infancy.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. A memorial fund will be established.
