Lavonne M. Turner

LaVonne M. Turner, 86, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.  She was born July 22, 1931 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of William and Maude (Sankey) Averill.  LaVonne married Donald Turner on October 1, 1947 in Waterloo.  He preceded her in death on December 28, 1992.  LaVonne worked for 43 years in the bakery at College Square HyVee, retiring in October of 2010.

She is survived by her three sons, Joe (Patty) Turner and Don (Vickie) Turner, Jr., both of Cedar Falls, and Jeff (Diane) Turner of Decorah, Iowa; her daughter, Cindy (Joe) Moody, of Cedar Falls; her daughter-in-law, Merryl Turner, of Waterloo; nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Ray (Rita) Averill, of Cedar Falls, and two sisters, Beulah LaPole and Darlene Beuhner, both of Cedar Falls.

LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two sons, Tom and Robert Turner; two brothers, Chuck and Bob Averill, and a sister, June Dunn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Falls, with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Waterloo.  Visitation will be 4 - 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, where a 4:00 p.m. Rosary Service will be conducted.  Visitation also one hour before service at the church.  Memorials may be directed to the family who will make donations to charity.  Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
