LAVAUN "BONNIE" ALICE NIELSEN was born September 28, 1930 at Shiply, Iowa, the daughter of Howard and Velma (Robertson) Fines. She married Eugene N. Nielsen on August 23, 1952 at El Paso, Texas. Bonnie was the owner of the Family Tree Craft Shop, now Bonnie's Gifts, in Dike, Iowa. She died Wednesday, January 15, 2003, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa, at 72 years of age.
Bonnie is survived by her husband, Eugene N. Nielsen, of Dike; two sons, Chris Nielsen of Dike and Neal Nielsen of Chesterfield, Michigan; two daughters, Darlene (Charles) Melick of Port Huron, Michigan and Cindy (Bernard) Weber of Dike; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, Harry E. Boleyn.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2003, at Fredsville Lutheran Church in rural Cedar Falls, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 19, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Interment will be at Fredsville Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice or Fredsville Lutheran Church.
