Laurene Yearling

Laurene Lu Yearling, 80, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, March 12, 2017, at UnityPoint Allen Hospital in Waterloo. Lu was born April 30, 1936 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Orville & Bernice (Brown) Skattum. She married Jimmy Lee Yearling June 30, 1956 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death April 2, 2012. Lu was employed at Allen Hospital for over 35 years as a Lab Technician.

Survivors include her daughter, Cindy (Bob) Stevenson; her son, Scott Yearling; four grandchildren, Christine (Jon) Law, Liz Bradfield, Hannah Yearling and Cole Yearling; four step grandchildren, Kate (Nate) Winston, Megan Brown, Haley Stevenson and Kelly Stevenson; and her sister, Joyce Anderson.

Lu was preceded in death by her parents and husband; one daughter, Stacey Yearling and one sister, Shirley Harper.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Cedar Heights Community Presbyterian Church. The family requests no flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the church or UnityPoint Allen Hospice. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
