LARRY CHARLES WILLIAMS was born February 17, 1940 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Charles and Marie (Bixby) Williams. He was a 1958 graduate of Shell Rock High School and graduated from Gates Business College. Larry was the former manager of Baker Shoe Store in Waterloo, Iowa and had been the manager of Guy Iverson AMVETS Post 49 in Cedar Falls, Iowa for many years. He was a member of Sons of AMVETS and enjoyed gardening, his grandchildren and being at the AMVETS Post. Larry died Friday, September 13, 2002, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, at 62 years of age.
He is survived by his life companion, Kay McSweeney of Cedar Falls; a daughter, LaDawn Hankins and her husband Ivan of Waterloo; a son, Troy Williams and his wife Debra of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Amanda and Danielle French and C. J. Williams, and two brothers, Dean Williams and his wife Becky of Cedar Falls and Dale Williams and his wife Betty of Janesville, Iowa. Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2002, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. A memorial fund will be established.
