Larry E. Gordon, 65, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo. He was born December 21, 1946, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Ralph and Hazel (Reves) Gordon. He married Mary Jo McKinney June 15, 1968 in Waukee, Iowa and they were later divorced. Larry married Marilyn Carley July 17, 1999 in Cedar Falls. He graduated from Dallas Center- Grimes High School and UNI in accounting. He worked for Lattas and John Deery Motors and in 2000 he started his own school supply company. Larry was a veteran of Vietnam, serving in the United States Air Force. He had a passion for photography and enjoyed fishing in Canada and various places in Iowa. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Gordon, of Cedar Falls; one son, Shawn (Jennifer Blount) Gordon, of Wheaton, Illinois and one daughter, Nikki (Dave) Conner, of Omaha, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Gabe, Lucas, and Isaac Conner, Ella and Elise Gordon; and his mother, Hazel Gordon, of Madrid, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Lovelle and Loren Gordon. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2012 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, with burial in Sunny Hill Cemetery, Grimes, Iowa. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Nazareth Lutheran Church and Allen Memorial Hospital.
