KIMBERLY SUE STRATTON was born August 11, 1969 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, Iowa the daughter of Gary and Maxine (Horness) Stratton. She received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Northern Iowa and her Master's Degree from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Kimberly was the Publications and Marketing Coordinator for the Fire Service Institute at Iowa State University. She died Thursday, June 15, 2000 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines from injuries received in a automobile accident. She was 30 years of age.
Survivors include her parents, Gary & Maxine Stratton of Hudson; two brothers, Galen Stratton and his wife, Teresa, of Williamsburg, Iowa, Garrett Stratton and his wife, Stephanie, of Altoona, Iowa; her sister, Karmin Stratton of Hudson, her paternal grandparents, Galen & Lois Stratton of Ames and her close friend, Troy Walker, of West Des Moines, Iowa. Kim was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Haakon & Elizabeth Horness.
Funeral services were 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2000 at St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Hudson, Iowa with burial in the Hudson Cemetery. A Memorial Fund will be established.
