Kenneth W Young

Kenneth W. Young, 55, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, March 26, 2010 at Sartori Memorial Hospital.  Ken was born August 24, 1954 in Cedar Falls, the son of Ferrrell "Frank" & Marcella (Shoemaker) Young.  He married Noreen Devoll in September of 1979 and they later divorced.  He then had a significant relationship with DeAnna Martin, and they later parted ways.  Ken graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1972 and was an Iron Worker with Local 89 in Cedar Rapids for 35 years.  He was a member of Heartland Vineyard Church.

Survivors include his adopted son, Shon (Janeen) Young, of Denver, Colorado; two daughters, Danielle (Michael) Albright, of Waterloo and Felicia Martin, of New Hartford; four grandchildren, Joshua, Austin and Brooke Young, and Aspen Albright; two sisters, Carolyn "Sis" Young, of Cedar Falls and her two children, Kirk & Kasey Haan; Leila Dolan, of Arizona; four brothers, Paul (Connie) Young, of Lebanon, Missouri, Harry (Sandy) Simpson, of Cedar Falls, Robert (Faye) Simpson, of Wells, Maine, and Richard (Judy) Kramer, of Traer; and his exes, Noreen Devoll Earls and DeAnna Martin Ackerson.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and a sister, Linda Young.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Heartland Vineyard Church.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and for one hour prior to service time at the church.  Memorials may be directed to Carolyn Young.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com
