KENNETH R. "DICK" WYMORE was born January 8, 1924 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Kenneth R. and Ellen C. (Welch) Wymore. He was a graduate of Ottumwa High School and served as a corporal in the 29th Division Headquarters Military Police during W.W. II. Dick was a veteran of the European military campaign and was present during the D-Day Invasion at Normandy, France. Following the war, he married Elma Weltz on April 4, 1948 at Grace United Methodist Church in Waterloo, Iowa. Dick was an assistant manager for S.S. Kresage Department Store in Waterloo and Streator, Illinois; was a route salesman for Jewel Tea; owned the Mobil station at Rownd St. and Hwy. 218 in Cedar Falls and was a driver for H & W Motor Express for 27 years, retiring in 1985. He was a lifetime member of Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 and the D.A.V. of Webster City, Iowa. Dick was also a member of the 29th Division Retirees and the Teamsters Local 844. He died Friday, December 1, 2000, at Cedar Falls Healthcare Center, at 76 years of age. Dick is survived by his wife Elma of Cedar Falls; his two sons, Kenneth R. Wymore II of Waterloo and Scott J. Wymore of Stout, Iowa; his daughter, Alice E. Neith of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren and five brothers, Keith and Roger Wymore, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Ronald Wymore of Ottumwa, Larry Wymore of Clearwater, Florida and Robert Wymore of Cedar Rapids.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2000, at First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls, with burial at Poyner Township Cemetery near Gilbertville.  Memorials may be directed to the National Parkinson's Foundation, Development Dept., 1501 NW Ninth Ave., Miami, Florida  33136.
