Kenneth Tewalt

Kenneth TeWalt, 94, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center.  He was born June 9, 1923 in Webster City, Iowa, the son of Verne and Grace (Linahon) TeWalt.  Kenneth married Sally Ann Pedersen on October 5, 1946 in Schaller, Iowa.  She preceded him in death on April 20, 2010.  Kenneth was a graduate of Waterloo West High School and Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) in 1950.  He served with the U.S. Army in the European Theatre of Operations during WW II.  Kenneth worked for the Waterloo Courier and later was the Cedar Falls City Clerk, retiring in 1990 after 40 years of service.  He was a member of the Waterloo Elk's Club, Cedar Falls Rotary Club and was a charter member of the Beaver Hills Country Club.

Kenneth is survived by his three daughters, Susan (Paul) Conaway of Denver, Colorado, Marcella Terry (James) Clark of Lakewood, Colorado and Catherine (Ken) St. Cyr of San Clemente, California; his son, James (Karen) TeWalt, of Port Orange, Florida; his grandson, Chad (Tamara) Mienders, of Gilroy, California, and two great grandchildren, Brianna and Madeline Mienders.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.  Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49.  Visitation will be one hour before service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Western Home Communities, Cedar Falls.  Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
