Kenneth E. Reints, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, October 18, 2013, at the Cedar Falls Health Care Center. He was born February 18, 1924 in Blockton, Iowa, the son of Earl and Edith (Bentley) Reints. Kenneth married Alice Morris on April 13, 1946 in Cedar Falls. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army during WW II and worked as a machinist at John Deere & Company in Waterloo from 1946 until his retirement in 1977. He was a member of First Christian Church in Cedar Falls. Survivors include his wife, Alice Reints, of Cedar Falls; a son, James (Denise) Reints, of Waverly, Iowa; two daughters, Janice (Terry) Olsson of Mankato, Minnesota and Lonna Flugge (Rob Boots) of Waterloo; seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Roy and Elmer Reints, and a niece, Dianne. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at First Christian Church, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Military honors will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Visitation will be 47:00 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association or First Christian Church.
