Kenneth Mccombs

Kenneth "Kenny" L. McCombs, 75, of Waterloo, died October 31, 2016 at Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. He was born October 9, 1941 in Waterloo, the son of Phillip and Betty (Pichelmann) McCombs. Kenny married Norma Hennings on July 2, 1960 in Waterloo. Before his retirement, Kenny worked at John Deere, All Iowa Contracting and Aspro. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a huge car enthusiast and enjoyed car racing. He loved going to auctions and swap meets and mostly loved spending time with family and friends.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Norma McCombs, of Waterloo; one son, Todd (Rhonda) McCombs, of Center Point, Iowa; two daughters, Jody McCombs, of Waterloo, and Susie (Jeff) Galpin, of Independence, Iowa; six grandchildren, Travis (Kassidy) McCombs, Jared McCombs, Jordan (Jordan) Steinmeyer, Brandon Tovar, Bailey Galpin, and Kennedy Galpin; two great-grandchildren, Mila and Soren Steinmeyer; one brother, Phil (Carol) McCombs, of Waterloo; and two sisters, Sandra (Rex) Streblow, of Waterloo, and Julie (Ken) Benda, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Ricky and Jerry McCombs.

A celebration of life will be from 2—4 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2016, at the La Porte City Golf Club in La Porte City, Iowa. There will be a private family inurnment at the Garden of Memories in Waterloo. Memorials may be directed to the family. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
