Keith E. Joy, 70, of Wellsburg, formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, from complication of lung cancer. He was born December 27, 1938 in Waterloo, Iowa the son of Russel and Donna Lee (Westlake) Joy. Keith was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was discharged in 1962. He married Connie Folkers Bergmeier on November 13, 1993 at Washburn, Iowa. During his teen years he worked for the Waterloo Courier as a printer and later as a printer for the Bangor Dailey News, Bangor, Maine. Keith also was a car salesman for Mark Gill Buick and various car dealerships, retiring in 1992.
Keith is survived by his wife, Connie of Wellsburg, Iowa; two daughters, Jenny Bergmeier of Waterloo and ToniLee Baker of Maine; three sons, Jason Bergmeier of Waterloo, Rick Joy of Arizona, and James Joy of Florida; seven grandchildren, including Tyler Sanders of Waterloo; two great grandchildren, and one sister Darlene Doland of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Brody Sanders and one brother Dennis Joy.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Miltary rites will be conducted by the Cedar Falls AMVETS Post # 49. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family.
