Kaylei Maree Thomas

KayLei Maree Thomas, 5, passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City.

KayLei was born December 29, 2019 in Waterloo to Ty'Quoia Weeks and the late Steven Thomas Jr.

KayLei loved to sing, dance, painting her nails, doing her make up and watching her favorite Bluey cartoons and the Disney Princesses.  She also enjoyed attending preschool in Hudson, especially learning how to write her name.  KayLei was a great mother to her 50 baby dolls and watching YouTube videos on how to care for them.  She enjoyed helping her mother and bammama cook and bake.  KayLei enjoyed playing and riding her bike with her brothers.

KayLei is survived by her mother, Ty'Quoia Weeks of Cedar Falls; brothers, Ty'Quon and Aiden; maternal grandmother, Jannie Gazaway; paternal grandparents, Steven Sr. and Pricilla (nee' Gates) Thomas; aunts, Shanquella Roberts, Jakayla Roberts, Miriam Beemon and Lacey Skinner Rice; uncles, Dikaio Tate, Deairious Cooper and Tyler Jefferson; and extended family and friends.  She is preceded in death by her father, Steven Thomas Jr.

The memorial service for KayLei will be at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home.
