Kathy Christine Miller

Kathy Christine "Chris" Miller, 59, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, November 17, 2014, at UnityPoint Health Allen Hospital in Waterloo from complications of Diabetes. She was born January 6, 1955, in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Milo and Eva Katherine Woods Weltruski. Kathy married Russ Miller on August 8, 1987, in Cedar Falls. She had a great love for animals and raised dogs for several years. She was a fighter and was a very strong and determined lady. Chris enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends. She was very proud of her grandchildren and loved them dearly. Survivors include her husband, Russ Miller, of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Laurie Kearns of Grundy Center, Iowa, and Carissa (Ryan) Harms of Dike, Iowa; her father, Milo Weltruski of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren, Madilyn, Hunter and Landen Harms; a brother, Doug (Shelley) Weltruski of Cedar Falls and a sister, Chj (Orv) Morris of Cedar Falls. Kathy was preceded in death by her mother; a sister, Sheila Roedel and a son, Jared Kearns, in infancy. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2014, at First United Methodist Church with interment in Hillside Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2014, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls and one hour prior to services at the church.
