KATHRYN I. PETERSON was born July 11, 1916, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Willard and Kathrine (Noonan) Gowans. She married Richard Peterson October 12, 1950 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1979. Kathryn was a graduate of the Mercy School of Nursing in Dubuque, Iowa. She was a volunteer with the American Red Cross and was the former Director of Nursing at the Cedar Falls Western Home. Kathryn died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Stone Hill Care Center in Dubuque, at 83 years of age.
She is survived by her two sons, Paul R. Peterson of Mason City, Iowa and Tim W. Peterson of Topeka, Kansas; two grandchildren and three sisters, Mildred, Genevieve and Sr. Marilyn Gowans, all of Dubuque. Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Family-directed graveside inurnment services were Saturday, May 13, 2000 at Greenwood Cemetery in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the family.
